Kebbi Set For Colorful Fulani Festival

TOURISM: DATES SET FOR FULANI HUTTUNGO FESTIVAL IN KEBBI NIGERIA

The Kebbi State government says it will sustain the promotion of tourism and cultural heritage of people of the state without infringing on their religious faith. .

This is contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Mu'azu Dakingari.

Governor Atiku Bagudu affirmed this, through the commissioner of commerce and industries, Alhaji Ibrahim Bawa Kamba.

The commissioner announced the hosting of this year’s Fulani “Huttungo Festival” which involves cattle’s racing from January 12th-14th January, 2017 at Kirya Village, Suru Local Government Area.

The event will also feature camel race, archery, cattle/sheep fettering and sheep racing coming as well as hut decoration competition.

The commissioner said the minister of culture has been invited to the cultural event.

Fulani’s all over the country, republic of Benin, Niger republic and other African countries are expected to attend.
The venue is along Bunza-Koko Road "Kirya Village”.
